If you are not interested in cosplay, anime, costumes, or my incessant fangirling/rambling, do NOT read further. Otherwise, Read At Your Own Risk.

Seeing as Halloween is just over a month away, the chosen model for Princess Unicorn will be announced Saturday, I'm likely going to the LA fashion district saturday to buy material, the Ouran manga just ended, and I've been scavenging Halloween stores/section of stores and thirft stores for cosplay items--I figured I should just write it out and get it all out of my head and onto paper... er, a blog.
Seriously, this ambition thing is getting in the way again. I have far too many things I want to do and not enough money or talent or time. Bah humbug. Here comes the jealousy into play a little too--how can other people do it? How can they afford 5 cons a year, 4 costumes per con, and travel/food/accommodation expenses on top of it, not even factoring in their regular life (probably school loans to pay back, insurance, gas, medical bills, utilities, ect ect ect)? Good grief. Why did I have to choose a hobby that is so expensive? *dies*
But seriously, AX was a blast. One of the most enjoyable things I've done in quite a while--well, I don't mean it's better than movie nights or photoshoots or beach trips or visiting and stuff with friends, but I mean... I don't know how to phrase it. Like when people go to Disneyland. Which I can't afford. At least spending money on cosplay is a little at a time, not $1000+ dollars to spend a day at Disney with my family or friends. Sheesh. Granted, con would NOT have been great without Bug. It just wouldn't be.
Let's get philosophical. I think cosplaying brings some sense of peace to my inner theatre geek. I miss being someone else--isn't that sad? But I do. I miss pretending to be someone else, have a personality outlined for me, a relationship with other characters that is clear even if I don't personally know the actor(ess) that well. I miss the audience feedback (not that I want someone cheering or laughing or boo-ing my every move in real life). It's been two years now since I've been in front of an audience, not counting christmas choir last year and I'm not even doing that this year.
